Hello, I’m Holly, and I’m Head of Events, my new position after a happy year as Head of Communications.
My role is to work with the committee and our volunteers to create an exciting, diverse calendar of events for Science Brainwaves to run and take part in. This involves a lot of meeting new people, brainstorming and hunting for unusual venues and themes.
It’s a great opportunity to find out what people enjoy, and we’re always looking for inspiration and ideas!
During the day, I’m a student at University of Sheffield, studying for a masters in Science Communication. I graduated in Chemistry last year, and I’m hoping to work with a science centre or as a science journalist after I graduate. My pet subject is environmental science and technology, and I’m currently making a film about solar panel research being carried out at the university.
I also do a lot of baking, knitting and generally making things – I’m a big fan of science craft!
If you have any ideas for events you’d like to see happen, just drop me an email at h.rogers@sciencebrainwaves.com.
