Hello! My name is Nurkaiyisah and I’m the President of Science Brainwaves 2019/2020.

As the President, I am responsible for overseeing the many amazing events run by our committee in order to encourage both younger (and older) people to get involved in the sciences through recruitment of enthusiastic students to participate in volunteering events as well as provide an opportunity for aspiring writers to showcase their science communication skills through blog-writing.

Going into my final year of Biomedical Science, I hope to create a welcoming environment for those interested in both outreach and science communication, in order to promote science to all ages.

If you are interested in writing blogs or volunteering please do not hesitate to contact me at: n.zaalanuar@sciencebrainwaves.com

Hello! My name is Oishee and I’m the Vice President and Inclusions Officer of Science Brainwaves 2019/2020.

I started volunteering with Science Brainwaves at the end of my first year and even had a go at some writing for the SBW Blog.

The highlight of my time at SBW was definitely the Stocksbridge Science Fair, searching for dino fossils at our “excavation site” and getting the children to talk about their favourite dinosaurs! My role this year will involve recruiting lovely volunteers to help out at our fantastic events, and helping the committee organise as many projects as we can!

So if you also love sharing science with everyone around you- join us! We always welcome new ideas and feedback as well from our volunteers- feel free to email me at o.rahman@sciencebrainwaves.com if you have any questions or ideas! :))

Hi, PC here. Kari and I are Head of Outreach of Science Brainwaves 2019/20!

I am in my second year of Biochemistry at uni and dream of doing research in a lab someday.

Science is not a one-man job and novel discoveries are made based on the work of others, hence whether you’re doing a science degree or not – do give one of our many volunteering sessions a try! Feel free to contact me at pc.ng@sciencebrainwaves.com if you have any questions about signing up to be a volunteer or joining any of our activities.

See you there!

Hello, my name is Karina! PC and I are Head of Outreach of Science Brainwaves 2019/20!

I’m currently in my second year of uni and I’m doing a degree in Genetics and Microbiology in the MBB department. Hopefully I’ll gradually make my way to become a genetic counsellor!

Ever since I was little, I’ve always been interested in science. What is more, I’m really excited to be joining the team this year alongside one of my best friends here – PC. One of my dreams is to spread the love of science among young girls and boys, show them the thrilling yet powerful world of knowledge and inspire them to get involved in science in their future!

Until then, I wish you all the best!
