MEET THE TEAM!
Hi there! My name is Ilyana and I’m the President of Science Brainwaves 2018/2019.
I’m tasked with overseeing all of the amazing work that goes into organising and running the Science Brainwaves activities and ventures. Going into my final year of a Biomedical Science degree, I am excited to invite you all to join us in our journey of promoting the love of science in the younger generation while improving your science communication skills.
My time working with Science Brainwaves has been a thoroughly enjoyable one. So much so that volunteering at their events actually feels just like a fun day out!
If you, like me, are fascinated with all things science and love having fun, then come on over and join us 🙂
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Hi, I’m Ella and I’m Head of Outreach for Science Brainwaves 2018/2019!
I have the duty of organising and running all the outreach activities this year: from extracting strawberry DNA to Pathogen Modelling.
I’m a third-year Zoologist so naturally, aspire to be the next David Attenborough. When not ‘studying’ I’m either at the farm or up a mountain – I can’t get enough of the great outdoors! Volunteering with Brainwaves is thoroughly rewarding and I urge anyone to get involved, however small the contribution may be. If you have any questions or want to hear more about my exciting life please feel free to email me at email@example.com!
Hi, I’m Megan, a Master’s student and Volunteers Officer for 2018/19.
I joined Science Brainwaves in 2016 and have loved the opportunity to spread passion for my subject. The outreach events are so fun and it’s fantastic seeing kids having fun with science. Volunteering for the society is a great way to gain skills and build up your CV so I’m looking for more students from across the science subjects to join us!
If you’re interested get in touch – firstname.lastname@example.org
Hello! My name is Oishee and I will be going into my third of Biomedical Sciences and I am really excited to be the new secretary of the Science Brainwaves committee!
I started volunteering with Science Brainwaves at the end of first year and even had a go at writing a bit for the Science Brainwaves Blog 🙂 The highlight of my time at SB was definitely the Stocksbridge Science Fair, making plasticine pathogens and getting the children to talk about what kind of “germs” they were making! So if you also love sharing science with everyone around you- join us! Feel free to email me at email@example.com if you have any questions about us.
Hello! My name is Nurkaiyisah, and I’m currently in my third year of my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science. I am treasurer for 2018/19.
As the treasurer I am responsible for handling the expenses of any activities involved in Science Brainwaves and acquiring funding so that everyone interested in science or outreach (or both) can get involved!
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by this email: firstname.lastname@example.org
