Wild about Plants

As part of the international Fascination of Plants day on 18th May 2012, we will be running an event called ‘Wild about Plants’ which aims to enthuse people about the importance of plants. The University of Sheffield and Science Brainwaves are working together to host a Festival of Plant Science, run by secondary school pupils, and put on for visiting primary school children. We are working in collaboration with local secondary schools to develop and run this event.

In the weeks leading up to the event, we will be working in secondary school science clubs to develop exciting, hands-on activities, each designed to wow primary school visitors, and inspire them about the wonders of the plant world. Activities will show how plants fuel life on Earth, use animals for their own ends, defend themselves against predators, and change the climate.
